Faith
Faith - The preparation for and reception of the sacraments is a vital component of our Religious Education program. First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are celebrated in Grade 2, while Confirmation takes place in Grade 8. Families seeking to have their children baptized in the Church are supported throughout this process. In class, students explore topics such as God the Gospel, and church history. They regularly attend Mass and confession, and also have opportunities to serve as lectors and altar servers. Holy Redeemer's mission is to guide students in their understanding of God and in living out the Gospel.
Learning
Our program aims to ensure that every child achieves success and develops a positive self-image within a supportive and welcoming classroom environment. We prioritize small class sizes and have a team of experienced, certified teachers committed to upholding the standards of Holy Redeemer. Our classrooms are equipped with computers and Smart Boards, and we offer Title 1 and individual tutoring services. Additionally, we provide an after-hours homework program three days a week, along with breakfast, hot lunch, and milk services to support proper nutrition for effective learning.
Service
At Holy Redeemer Grade School, putting faith and learning into action is central to our mission. Through various projects, both large and small, our students create a remarkable legacy of compassion. Service often involves assisting those they know, but many projects also support individuals they may never meet. Examples of faith in action include student donations of food and money to the St. Vincent de Paul Society on Mass days participation in the annual Pennies for Patients program for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan, and collections for Feed My Starving Children and non-perishable foods for Thanksgiving baskets. These initiatives showcase how Holy Redeemer students embody their faith.
